Our Skinspirations!
We are so proud of all our featured models and the community we’ve built. And we want to continue to celebrate all our AOS Family. One of the ways we do this is to leave the choice of Skinspiration completely up to you. All of our featured models throughout the year are automatically entered and voting takes place in December. Ultimately, YOU choose the Art on Skin Magazine’s Skinspiration!
Ashley Gibson
Ashley Gibson is the embodiment of what Art on Skin Magazine represents. Selected as the magazine’s second-ever Skinspiration winner, Ashley was chosen by our readers not just for the volume or quality of her tattoos, but for the deeply personal story her ink tells; one rooted in love, family, resilience, and growth.
With more than 25 tattoos and full sleeves on both arms, Ashley’s body art serves as a visual timeline of her life. Her tattoo journey began after the birth of her first son, a moment that marked a profound shift in her identity and inspired her first piece. From there, her collection grew organically, each tattoo capturing a meaningful chapter rather than a passing trend.
At the heart of Ashley’s work are the portrait tattoos of her two sons. “They’re my world,” she says. These pieces stand out for their emotional weight and intention. They are are daily affirmations of her role as a mother and the strength she draws from her family.
Ashley also views the tattoo process itself as transformative. “It’s like a therapy session,” she shares, describing the mix of nerves and excitement she feels before each appointment. For her, the experience of sitting in the chair is just as meaningful as the finished piece: a collaboration between artist and canvas that reflects healing, trust, and self-expression.
Payton Becca
Payton Becca, our 2024 Skinspiration, is adorned with a tapestry of tattoos that tell stories of love, loss, and personal milestones. With her body almost fully covered, she jokes that her tattoos are too numerous to count—an ever-evolving collection which began with a tattoo in Key West that sparked a lifelong passion.
Her favorite tattoo is a poignant memorial to her father, who passed away from emphysema in 2006. “He was always there for me,” she explains.
For Payton, the most exciting part of getting tattooed is adding to her beautiful collection of artwork. Currently, she’s focused on refining her backpiece with her favorite artist DJ’s expertise. Her advice to those considering getting a tattoo is carefully research and trust your instincts when choosing an artist.
Looking ahead, Payton dreams of becoming a voice for the unheard and leaving a legacy of compassion and empowerment. Despite societal misconceptions of those who have tattoos, she encourages others to stay true to themselves and embrace their unique identities proudly.
Payton’s story is a testament to the transformative power of tattoos and the resilience found in self-expression. As she continues her journey, her inked artistry remains a vibrant canvas of her life’s experiences and aspirations.
