Artist Feature: Dylan Jorgensen

By: Kate Turnipseed

Dylan Jorgensen is a fantastic artist working out of Evansville, Indiana! Even though he’s a new member at Revolution Ink, he is by no means a new tattoo artist. With about ten years of artistry under his belt, Dylan is a seasoned tattoo artist ready to take on any challenge. His specialties include color work, black and gray realism, neo-traditional, and fine line, making him a well-rounded artist.

More than just designs on skin, Dylan looks at tattooing as a fleshform. He explains: “Tattooing saved me long before I ever held a machine. It gave me purpose, connection, and a way to turn pain into something permanent and beautiful. Fleshform is my way of giving that back, putting people’s stories into their skin so they can carry them, healed, for the rest of their lives.” Dylan’s work in helping others through difficult healing processes, whether the scars were originally visible or not, really shows the type of person and artist he is.

Dylan is the type of artist who cares for every person who walks through the shop’s doors. The type of artist to listen to every story and work on the perfect tattoo. And Dylan is the type of artist where it’s safe to leave your deepest pain on the tattoo chair and head home lighter with a physical representation of your story on your skin.

The work also stands for itself. With more fantastic work than we could fit in this feature, Dylan’s portfolio is expansive. His anime tattoos are completely on point, with recognizable characters brought directly from screen to skin in remarkable detail. His color tattoos are crisp, with his understanding of color theory on clear display. His black and grey is smooth, with perfect fades, variance in dark and light, and strong linework.

“Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood,” (by Ralph Waldo Emerson) reads his Facebook Page. Not only are Dylan’s clients living those lessons, they’re trusting him to permanently mark their skin with those lessons’ reminders.

Dylan is accepting new clients and does take walk-ins.
